Today is the one year memorial for my grandmother, may her memory be eternal. I pray that she is resting in peace, and enjoying her next life with my Papou. :) I will never look at spring flowers the same as I did in her yearly garden.
Delicate Arch in Arches National Park, Utah. July 2007. One of the most captivating moments in my US travels. It is massive and was an amazing sight to see! Can you find me standing next to the arch in this picture? I'm there!
I tried to find a place to take a landscape shot of Nashville. I don't think this is quite "the" spot, but you get an idea of the city's size. The stadium in the foreground is where Vanderbilt plays; the campus sits to the right of it. Notice the "Bat Man" building in the skyline?
I attended my first MPI Luncheon today, taking place at what I am now calling a hidden gem hotel in Downtown, Nashville: Union Station Hotel. It was beautiful inside! Wish I had a wider lense to capture the entire scene as seen by the eye.
In Madeira, I captured the stillness of nature under a foot of snow. The tree line in a distance covered with snow is so peaceful. One wouldn't know there was a hill full of cabin-fever elementary school kids racing down the hills in their sleds nearby.
Today there is more snow on the ground and the roads are worse than I ever remember! This is a "secondary road" - Hanley in White Oak; yes, I'm driving. You can't see where the roads begin or end, but what a beautiful Winter Wonderland!
This bright red cardinal was perched was spotted in my parent's backyard. It was taken in the morning as the snow continued to fall; if you look close you may be able to see the streaks of snow falling. Very peaceful and beautiful!
Cincinnati has seen its share of snowfall this year! I was lucky enough to be in town to enjoy the snow in early February. This cardinal was getting well fed at a neighbor's house, near my parents back yard. (pic was cropped to enhance image) The snow was just getting started!
I took this picture of the male mallard duck on the day I was inspired to start a blog (Jan 18). The picture was taken by mistake - from careless photography, but I love it! The exposure wasn't set accurately, but I love how the colors developed and his reflection on the water!
Today I heard from a friend who spends a few months a year in Maui, Hawaii. Since then I've been dreaming about being there in the warm temperatures with some of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen, and enjoying each moment in paradise. This picture was captured at sunset from the balcony of the condo we stayed in a couple years ago. Truly beautiful!
Groundhog Phil saw his shadow today, so winter stays a while longer! I couldn't find a groundhog to take a picture of, but this squirrell is praying for the snow to melt so he can get back to his normal routine. (this picture was cropped after the fact to focus in closer on him)
It's the first day of February and the snow continues to cripple the city of Nashville. Sticking with the theme, here is another nice snow pic I took earlier this week. Interesting to see the stillness in what is normally such an active park, these swings are rarely vacant.
